Application and Procedure

Throughout the day, our faces express numerous emotions, reflecting our thoughts and feelings — we raise our eyebrows, furrow our brows, smile. All of these expressions are thanks to the contraction and relaxation of various muscle groups. Over time, these movements leave their mark on our faces; these are the wrinkles — between the brows, on the forehead, around the eyes. To relax the muscles and smooth out the lines, we inject a small amount of muscle relaxant (botulinum toxin) into specific areas.

Botulinum toxin - its application and advantages:

  • It can treat wrinkles caused by muscle contraction rather than skin relaxation.
  • Botulinum toxin leads to the complete smoothing of lines in the upper half of the face.
  • By placing botulinum toxin in the upper part of the face, the eyebrows are lifted, resulting in an increased distance between the eyelid and eyebrow.
  • With muscle relaxant (botulinum toxin), to some extent, wrinkles under the eyes are relaxed, the corners of the lips are lifted, and parallel wrinkles in the neck area are softened.

PROCEDURE:

The procedure is performed by a dermatologist who, after examining the patient, places botulinum relaxant in the necessary area.

WHAT HAPPENS IN THE SKIN DURING AND AFTER THE PROCEDURE?

The neurotoxin blocks the transmission of the nerve impulse from the neuron to the muscle, achieving muscle relaxation.

WHAT TO DO AFTER THE PROCEDURE?

Four hours after the procedure, the patient should remain in a seated or upright position and under no circumstances lie horizontally, as unwanted effects may occur. The injected areas should not be pressed or massaged. For at least the next 72 hours, no cosmetic products or procedures should be applied, nor should alcohol be consumed.

WHAT IS THE DURATION OF THE EFFECT OF BOTULINUM RELAXANT?

Upon initial application, the effect lasts for 3-4 months. With subsequent applications, the period is slightly extended to 4-6 months.

WHEN IS BOTULINUM TOXIN NOT APPLICABLE?

  • During pregnancy;
  • While breastfeeding;
  • In cases of serious neurological problems, diabetes, acute infectious diseases, etc.
