Plasma lifting
What is PlasmaTherapy?
PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) therapy is a modern medical procedure used in aesthetic medicine, orthopedics, dentistry, and other medical fields to promote tissue regeneration and healing.
PRP therapy utilizes the patient's own blood to rejuvenate skin and stimulate hair growth. The process involves drawing a small amount of blood, which is then processed to concentrate the platelets, and the plasma is injected into targeted areas. Platelets contain growth factors that stimulate collagen production, tissue repair, and hair follicle activation.
Who Can Benefit from PRP Therapy?
- Face: People with early signs of aging, such as wrinkles and fine lines, or those seeking to improve skin texture and tone.
- Scalp: Individuals experiencing early stages of hair loss or thinning, looking for a natural solution to hair restoration.
Cells Used in PRP and Why It Is Effective?
The primary cells making PRP effective are platelets. In addition to blood clotting, platelets release key growth factors that stimulate:
- Collagen production: Supports skin elasticity and health.
- Tissue repair: Growth factors speed up the healing of damaged tissues and promote cell regeneration.
- Angiogenesis: Stimulates the formation of new blood vessels, improving blood supply to treated areas.
How does the procedure work?
8-9 ml of venous blood is taken from the patient, which is centrifuged to separate the blood elements from the liquid component. It is then injected into the dermis by a dermatologist. If desired by the patient, a local anesthetic can be applied at the beginning of the procedure for a more comfortable and painless experience.
How Often is PRP Therapy Performed?
- Face: Typically 2–4 sessions are recommended over 4–6 weeks, followed by maintenance every 6–12 months.
- Scalp: 3 initial sessions are recommended at intervals of 4–6 weeks, followed by maintenance every 4–6 months.
Patient Preparation Before the Procedure:
No special skin preparation is required. The only recommendation is to avoid taking acetylsalicylic acid (aspirin) two days before and after the procedure.
Contraindications:
PRP therapy is not suitable for:
- Individuals with blood disorders or autoimmune diseases.
- Patients taking blood thinners.
- People with active skin infections or specific skin conditions like rosacea.
